Dogs are heroes to all.
Sometimes when domesticated animals are out in the wild, they don't choose the best places to cozy up. For example, this stray cat decided the perfect place to have her kittens would be a storm drain. Us humans know that is a terrible place for kittens because once a storm hits, they're toast.
Luckily, a good girl pit bull named Cookie found them and had their backs. Cookie was on a walk when her snoot caught a whiff of something. She stopped in front of a storm drain and refused to move. That's when her mama knew that something was going on. “This isn't our first rodeo,” she says. Apparently, Cookie stopped at another storm drain last year where she pointed out some lost kittens stuck inside.
They went straight to action and called the emergency services. The police, firemen, and even EMTs came straight to the site. All of the kittens got rescued. The mama was grabbed but then freaked out and freed herself from her rescuer's arms and ran off. Now the girl is trying to get help in finding the mom so she can reunite her with her kittens.
All in all, some kittens were rescued thanks to a helpful pittie and that's the kind of news we need to see more of these days.
