Launching October 23, the new mode pits a team of five - Blade, Magik, Punisher, Thor, and (obviously) Jeff the Land Shark - against endless waves of undead enemies. Each hero gets their own overpowered, zombie-slaying twist: Blade throws bouncing Moonblades, Thor enters an “Awakened” god mode, and Magik gets to stay in Darkchild form forever. It’s chaos, it’s spooky, and it’s exactly what Marvel Rivals needed.
You’ll slice through hordes of rotting grunts, face off against zombie bosses like Scarlet Witch and Namor, and (hopefully) survive long enough to earn some rewards and skins. While we don’t know if it’ll directly tie into the Marvel Zombies Disney+ series, the crossover potential is huge.
Personally, this reminds me of every “Horde Mode” I’ve ever lost hours to - from Gears of War to Unreal Tournament's Invasion mode - and I am so here for it. If Overwatch 2’s abandoned PvE dreams still haunt you, this might be the redemption arc you’ve been waiting for.
So sharpen your stakes, charge your hammer, and get ready to turn the undead into XP - Halloween just got a lot more heroic.
