Different people have different dreams when it comes to their wedding. We all view that special day in our own unique way, and we all deserve to make that dream a reality, whether it is a big wedding with hundreds of people or a small ceremony with only the happy couple.
That being said, when it comes to family, I believe it is important to be as transparent about your wedding day as possible. Sure it is your special day, but your family deserves to know where they stand in regards to that, and whether or not they are doing to be a part of that.
For example, if you ask your parents and siblings to help you fund your wedding, and then end up eloping without so much as a word to them, you should expect them to be disappointed, and possibly hurt. And if you end up still asking for their money, despite going through with your wedding without them, well, that is simply just mean and unnecessary.
