It's Friday the 13th, which means something spooky is in the air. There's a chill that's more than just the dawning of fall weather. Something is… haunted. The Midwest can be an underratedly spooky place. You know this if you've ever driven through endless fields of corn at night. There's something about the vast emptiness and flatness of the Midwest that makes it seem plausible that some kind of monster or serial killer is lurking just beyond the shadows. Not to put too fine a point on it, but two of the most famous serial killers of all time are from the Midwest (John Wayne Gacy and Jeffrey Dahmer). You can sometimes feel it on a quiet autumn night.
Okay, nevermind I'm freaking myself out. The Midwest is a wholesome place full of nice people and good times. These memes prove it. Now get on with them before I get spooked.
