NY Summer Streets Program Exhibits "The Voice Tunnel"
This summer in NY, residents will have a chance to contribute to a publicly available exhibit in the Park Avenue Tunnel. Dreamt up by Mexican-Canadian artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, the installment uses lights and user created looped sounds to illuminate and serenade the full length of the tunnel. Passers-by can stop at a recording location in the middle of the tunnel to contribute her or his voice, which enters into a loop of about 90 other recordings while older recordings are phased out.
