User VolcanoTX explains how he fixed his 1966 Ford Crown Vic: The front doors kept getting harder to open from the inside, and then the handle on the driver's side snapped in half. Took the doors apart to find the sheet metal was tearing on both doors. I bought some metal plates from the deck hardware section at Lowe's and some self-tapping sheet metal screws and the doors were as good as new, though I had to take a door handle from one of the rear doors.
