Well, my friends (who don't like the show) would always be hating on the show and I thought "What could be so bad about a show called 'Friendship is Magic' ", so I watched an episode. It was "Family Appreciation Day" and I was hooked! I didn't tell my friends for months, though, but they couldn't have seemed to care less when I did. It was, I think, in early March last year, when I started watching, around the time "It's About Time" came out.
