I didn't have the starch in the backbone to persue being a film actress. "Go with the flow" was the mantra I leved by and U get nowhere floating along. You gotta put some effort into Ur life and swim after what you want. Even if Ur just doin the dog paddle you are working toward Ur goal. I took water ballet and competitive swimming a couple of summers and it's easy to stay afloat. It's work to win Ur races or complete the ballet program. I thot it wasn't real work to do what U love so I didn't do what I loved. I did what was "real" work.. goin' with the flow. I didn't love acting, I love painting/drawing/photography/pottery... I still, at this great age, haven't figured out how to earn a living doing those things that I love. If I had gotten my education, I could have been a teacher of art and been able to play at the other mediums at home in my time off. That's what I did while working for Wal-Mart. Teachers' pay and benefits are better and U get to share what U love.

What happened yesterday? I was a good student in the subjects I liked and a miserable failure in the subject I didn't like. When I got to college again at 28 and had a heart for it I got an A in math. WOW! I still have that report card in an album. I carried a 3.00 after my first miserable attempt at college. I took the classes I needed to earn my A/A but Algebra. I avoided it forever and then.. I was in an accident that knocked my head so hard I have a very good excuse for not being able to think in math... Never was good at it, had to work to do decently in math and now I thank God for calculators because my multipulcation tables are hanging on by a thread... I focused on the classes I enjoyed and could afford. Figure drawing and Pottery. I'm old now and unless I make it big as a "Grandma Moses"... I didn't have a plan to follow and I wasn't led of the Lord so... Driftwood would describe my life. I didn't follow thru with being a film actress because I didn't have the starch in the b

I've had an hour or so to ponder what all I told U. Yeppers, get Ur education. I still to this day use techniques for make-up I learned in "stage make-up 101" Drama was my first major in Jr.college. I still use, in my art, a masking tape technique I learned when I worked in an auto-body shop (teen years) Then used it when I worked for aGraphic Design studio. Those are my examples of getting an education but with a degree you'll go farther and be better prepared no matter what section of the business U finally feel best in. I didn't have the starch to continue working for actress. That wasn't where mah gift lie. You lmight discover that being an agent is where U like it best. Education will open more doors. Well, God will lead U the best... If Ur a believer... I'm just sayin.

Rise above it and don't believe the line "you have to if U want to make it in this business" The business is full of good Christian people and U don't have to slide into /with the scum of the business. Community theatre, SAG, Agent I don't know the proper order but like I said, it's been 40 years since I even was looking in that direction. Go to school. Get Ur degree in what U love to do and work at it while U build up Ur resume.U might find that teaching drama or some aspect of it is more to Ur liking than all the being on stage part. That's the best advice I can give. Get Ur education and degree in... whatever THEN persue acting. Ur building Ur resume. Smart, highly educated people do better in the acting business.shoot ANY business. Education should be at the top of this to-do list. Church~Education~degree~ THEN Agent~ SAG All the while community and School theatre. yeah.. like that

Dennis told me way back then...join a community theatre, Build Ur resume showing what parts U have played and Ur training/education.. Have a portfolio of photographs taken n various outfits to show charactures ie: Tennis (sporty) glamour and no makeup The photographer will know. Join S.A.G. Find Urself an agent. Model,..Ur agent will know what U need to build Ur resume. Get a job as a tour guide for the Burbank studios... It's been forever since I was even in L.A. and all my info comes from ancient history and what I overheard that others did. Go online and do a search. I'm Christian so get in a good Word church. Ur also making a solid foundation of prayer partners to back U up in prayer while U step into that wretched business. Maintain Ur high moral standards because that place can drag U into the pits of Hell with out even an awareness that Ur being dragged until U've gone so far down it's nigh impossible to get back up. First little thing that makes U uncomfprtable.. don't, ris

Dennis (cousin by marriage) died a few years ago and I'd have to Google him to see what movies he was in. I only saw two and I don't remember the name of the one he had the greatest part in. The other one was a bit part with Mel Gibson and I'll remember the other fellows name after I stop typing.."Maveric" was the movie. How come U can't take Ginger with U? My hair was a smoky dark not quite black with horrible red highlight and now it's mostly gray. It's longish and getting longer and just enuf of dark and gray that it looks like a swirl when I stick it up. I whittle my own hair sticks too. What's all Ur coloring? Hope there's some Irish in there somewhere.

I don't like twilight, it drives me crazy that everyone is ga-ga over it and its about vampires that doent even exist. All my friends are in love with it. Its okay about emailing, many people tell me that. What i was planning to do (an the future) was switch to a picture of me and ABadabadoo, or just a different picture, or at least one with better scenery....

I only said film actress because it didn't sound as stoopid as "I wanna be a MOVIE star" I liked watching movies, lived my life vicariously thru the movies. The happy/music/dancing/falling in love/quick comebacks/the hero saving the lady in trouble/adventure that mostly ended well... U know how much fun they can be. Because I said I wanna be a film actress I just went with it forever. He was married to my cousin and he was just getting started then and you have to be looking for him to find him. very small time actor but he was a sweetie.I am babysitting my grandbaby and have forgotten the rest of Ur last message so I'll finish this later. G'nite
