Australian rock band Jet, known stateside for the song "Are You Gonna Be My Girl," has decided to split up.

"After many successful years of writing, recording and touring we wish to announce our discontinuation as a group," reads a statement on their website. "From the many pubs, theatres, stadiums and festivals all across the world it was the fans that made our amazing story possible and we wish to thank them all. Thank you, and goodnight."

Over their thirteen years together, Jet released three albums and two EPs. They sold 6.5 million records internationally, and their singles were frequently heard in commercials and video games.
