BBC News made a bit of a blunder in a newscast about violence in Syria last week, accidentally replacing the logo of the United Nations Security Council with the insignia of another UNSC -- Halo's United Nations Space Command -- in what appears to be a lazy use of Google Image Search.

"BBC News makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all images broadcast, however very occasionally mistakes do happen," the BBC said in a statement. "Unfortunately an incorrect logo was used during a segment on last week's News at One bulletin and we apologise to viewers for the mistake."

To be fair, the two UNSCs are practically the same anyway, except that one is fictional and operates in space. And BBC News is certainly not the first news network to inadvertently add a little science fiction to its reporting via Google Images.
