It may already be a big hit in space, but that doesn't stop Firefly's signal from getting to the fine men and women aboard ocean research vessels. And they love it.
The folks over at Deep Sea News, who use "boat" as a literal term, have collected ten reasons why marine biologists and researchers find the show so close to the daily ups and downs they experience aboard a seafaring vessel, such as meal time:
After working hard and bickering in close quarters for days on end, relaxing over food is a way to reconnect with your shipmates, even when the food is not that great. Everyone runs out of "freshies" after a while and has to resort to processed and preserved food.
Just stay away from the "birthday cake."
