Tardar Sauce, famously known as “Grumpy Cat”, first became an internet sensation when that classic grumpy face was uploaded on Reddit, September 22, 2012.
Tardar’s owner, Tabatha Bundesen, believes Tardar was a mix of breeds: Ragdoll, Persian, Showshoe. But she wasn’t certain. She did, however, disclose that the reason behind Grumpy's permanent scowl was due to an underbite and feline dwarfism.
And ever since uploading that unique face on Reddit, Tardar Sauce, and her permanent scowl, went viral and dominated the interwebs. You couldn't avoid seeing Grumpy Cat's adorable 'mean' mug. Tardar sauce was everywhere!
Grumpy Cat is also one of the richest pets in the world! Her networth is cited to be about $100 million, however her owner claimed that is incorrect. Still, Grumpy Cat definitely ranked in (and continues to rank in) millions.
Lillian Bubbles, better known as “Lil Bub,” actually went viral before Tardar Sauce. Her owner, Mike Bridavsky, first uploaded a video titled “good job bub” on YouTube, by user LilBubBub. That same day, the Lil Bub Tumblr blog was launched.
Like Tardar Sauce, Lil Bub also had a very recognizable face. Lil Bub was the runt of her litter, and had quite a few genetic complications. Lil Bub was known to be a “perma-kitten,” a cat with dwarfism (just like Tardar)--
but Lil Bub also had polydactylism and a disformed lower jaw.
However, it was due to all those complications that made the world fall hopelessly in love with Lil Bub and her inability to contain her tongue within her mouth.
Lil Bub was such an inspiration to everyone, and loved by so many, that Lil Bub had her very own Vice Documentary, ‘Lil Bub & Friendz’, a book deal, ‘Lil BUB's Lil Book: The Extraordinary Life of the Most Amazing Cat on the Planet’, and a web show--
Both cats may said goodbye but they will never be forgotten for what they are, legendary cats of the internet who made a difference. They will always be remembered for their donations, inspiration, and the endless love and joy they spread to us all.
