You Could Be Purchasing a Switch 2 Sooner Than You Think (In Less Than a Week, Actually)

Well, it's official (Kind of) - pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 could start as early as April 2, which is next week! According to an official blog post from Best Buy Canada, you'll be able to secure your new console the same day Nintendo holds its much-anticipated Switch 2 Direct presentation. We haven't even seen the console properly yet, but hype levels are already through the roof.

If history is anything to go by, these pre-orders are going to sell out fast. The original Switch was a runaway success, and after 8 years (yes, eight years!), it's still going strong. That longevity alone is proof that Nintendo knows exactly what it's doing. Now they're getting ready to pass the torch—and fans are ready to grab it with both hands.

The announcement also confirmed that a brand new Mario Kart game (The one we saw in the official reveal) will be launching alongside the console. Nintendo will be hosting Switch 2 fan events around the world in the weeks following the reveal, from New York to Amsterdam, Tokyo, and beyond.

Mark your calendars for April 2. You might want to refresh that Best Buy page a few hundred times… just to be safe.
