Well, so much for Earth's mightiest heroes. Marvel just dropped a savage announcement that has me both extremely hyped and genuinely afraid for my favorite characters (Well, not really, they die all the time). Predator Kills the Marvel Universe is coming this August and, according to writer Benjamin Percy, that title is not a metaphor.
After Predator vs. Wolverine, Predator vs. Black Panther, and Predator vs. Spider-Man escalated things from personal vendettas to city-wide chaos, this final chapter blows the doors wide open. It's full-on war. The entire Marvel Universe is now fair game in a five-issue series where an army of Yautja (that's Predator-speak for "you're totally dead") descend on Earth with vibranium weapons and one terrifying goal: turn our planet into their personal hunting ground.
We're talking Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four—no one is safe. And just when you think it can't get worse, there's apparently a human ally helping them. Cool. Cool cool cool.
Percy and artist Marcelo Ferreira are clearly not here to play nice. Expect chaos. Expect casualties. Expect to scream "NOOO!" at least once per issue.
Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #1 hits shelves August 13. Preorder now. Mourn later.
