It's happening. IT'S HAPPENING.
The new Harry Potter trio has officially been cast, and we're already mentally clearing our calendars for every single premiere, breakdown, and inevitable character debate this reboot will bring.
HBO just announced that Dominic McLaughlin will play Harry, Arabella Stanton is our new Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout will take on the role of Ron Weasley. All three are fresh faces, hand-picked from what showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod called "an extraordinary search" that saw tens of thousands of kids audition. And now? These three are about to become household names.
In their official statement, Gardiner and Mylod said:
"The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen."
Us too. Us too.
The cast already includes John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Snape, Nick Frost as Hagrid, and more—but now that the core trio is locked in, it's starting to feel real. Like, Polyjuice Potion real.
Another decade of Hogwarts is coming. Get your wands ready.
