People don't give Pirates of the Caribbean enough credit. Sure, everyone agrees it's a great movie, but I don't think people remember just how good it actually is. And I'm talking about the first one here (though the second is also fantastic). Every time I rewatch Curse of the Black Pearl I'm blown away all over again. It's one of those rare, lightning-in-a-bottle movies where everything just clicks - perfect story, perfect characters, perfect twist, and all of it based on a Disney ride. That's like making Space Mountain: The Movie and somehow turning it into one of the greatest films of all time.
Anyway - LEGO!
LEGO has just revealed 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship, a massive 2,862-piece set that launches September 12, 2025 for $379.99 / €349.99. It's basically their ultimate take on the Black Pearl (though mysteriously not called that on the box), and it looks incredible. Fully furnished captain's quarters, working cannons, a detachable rowboat, and even a split hull option so you can display it as half-sunken. The minifig lineup includes Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann, Barbossa, Gibbs, Cotton, Marty, and Anamaria (making her LEGO debut).
The build is denser and more detailed than past versions, ditching the big molded hull pieces for a brick-built design. This is LEGO finally giving the Pirates of the Caribbean theme the respect it deserves.
You can find the ship here (though it's not on sale yet)
Yo ho, yo ho, a plastic life for me.
