Some people dream of getting married in a castle. Others want a beach at sunset. But Sharik and Jessica Burgess-Stride? They said "I do" in the Shire - and got a surprise wedding guest straight out of Middle-earth.
The New Zealand couple were mid-paperwork at their Hobbiton ceremony when actual Frodo Baggins strolled down the aisle. At first, the groom thought he was imagining it ("nah, that's not him… oh sh—t, it IS him"). But sure enough, Elijah Wood, hobbit hero of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, was right there in full mortal glory, attending with his family while in town for the Armageddon Expo.

Their photographer called it "the most welcome surprise guest ever," and said Elijah, ever the humble hobbit, didn't want to interrupt until she convinced him to jump in for photos. He congratulated the couple, posed for pictures, and then presumably disappeared into the West (or at least the parking lot).
The groom had even worked Lord of the Rings quotes into his vows - so honestly, the universe just cast Elijah in the sequel to their love story. Somewhere out there, Samwise is smiling.
