A tourist used her mouth to split a carrot in half before attempting to feed it to two alpacas in a zoo in northern China's Liaoning province. Seemingly disgusted, one of the alpacas was filmed spitting at her. We're not sure if it was disgust or betrayal. Perhaps the alpaca thought she broke the promise to feed him and started eating the carrot herself when she put the carrot in her mouth.
Alpacas are calm and gentle creatures and not dangerous at all. They could however be aggressive when threatened or not properly trained, or apparently when someone presents them with a carrot that's been in their mouth. They could also fight over food and water if not adequately provided, hence the spitting occurrence.
