A little penguin found himself washing up on the shores of New Zealand, a mere 2000 miles away from his home in Antarctica! We wonder how this little dude managed to stray so very far from home, and are thankful that he received the care and treatment he needed after such a journey!
"An Adélie penguin has ventured over 3,000 kilometres (1,864 miles) to the coastline of New Zealand in a rare sighting of the Antarctic bird so far from its home. The penguin, nicknamed 'Pingu' by locals, was discovered looking confused and tired at Birdlings Flat, a small settlement south of the city of Christchurch. It's thought to be only the third recorded time that an Adélie penguin, whose natural habitat is Antarctica, has made it safely to the shores of New Zealand." Via The Telegraph.
