According to Inside Edition: "Western Australia's Christmas Island welcomed its annual migration of red crabs. Millions of crawling crimson crustaceans closed roads on the island. They could be seen making their way over a land bridge, headed towards the ocean. There, they will mate and spawn. Christmas Island's red crab population used to be much higher -- but in recent years, over a quarter of the red crabs have been lost to the yellow crazy ant -- an invasive species."
Red crabs all over the island leave their homes at the same time and start marching towards the ocean to mate and spawn. This video highlights the Christmas Island Crabs' amazing journey and the gusto in which they thrust themselves forward towards their goal: repopulation. Roads are even closed in their honor, it's pretty wild. Check it out.
