According to Inside Edition: "Conservationists are using some advanced technology to track the movements and health of big cats. Three pumas, or cougars, are being tracked on the Olympic peninsula of Washington State by the Olympic Cougar Project of Panthera, an organization dedicated to preserving 40 wildcat species around the world."
"The big cats were outfitted with collars that give off radio signals. The technology was developed in Africa to fight elephant poaching." Unlike other wildcats, did you guys know that Pumas don't roar? They use whistles, screams, squeaks and purrs to communicate. Pumas are extremely athletic! Maybe that's what inspired the popular athletic shoes brand! They can run up to 50 mph (80 kph) and jump as high as 15 feet (4.6 meters). Impressive indeed.
