Since we have nothing but time on our hands while in quarantine, we're starting a new weekly feature we call "This Week In Meme History." Thanks to the massive archives of our friends at Know Your Meme, we're able to see the wonderful (and terrible) formats and trends that were popular over the years in incredibly organized and chronological order. This week there's a lot of cringe and irony as we look back at Pregnant Luigi, Pee Is Stored In The Balls, and Sleeping Shaq.

Two years ago this week Know Your Meme unleashed their entry for the cringey horror of Pregnant Luigi illustrations. Most of them depict the Nintendo character with a bulging belly - and in the weirdly amorous company of his brother, Mario. While you may not enjoy these, they'll always be deeply etched in our memories.

    The origin of "Pee is Stored in the Balls" memes is a 2012 tweet, so while this meme kinda popped up in 2017, the joke has been alive for almost a decade. Even Chrissy Teigen tweeted about the absurd notion that urine is stored in the testicles. The sheer idiocy of the "theory" made for a crap ton of of dank memes. While the meme was huge for a time, it's proven to have no longevity. Or maybe we have more important anatomical issues to work out, like how Luigi became pregnant.
