Remember when you were younger and you wished that you could rescue all animals from harm's way? Seeing a dog or cat outside in the cold with no loving pawrent to care for them was probably the beginning of your unconditional love for animals. The little domestic creatures are undeserving of whatever hardships they face out in this dog-eat-dog world, and it can be ruff seeing the sweet angels all by their lonesome.
Many animal lovers make a point to feed the neighborhood strays and others take to animal shelters where they volunteer their time to make sure all of the cattos and doggos get all the lovin' they deserve. The animal lover in this video, Megan Lombardi, does some animal field research, in that she actively goes outside looking for animals to rescue (in addition to her pledge to "empty LA animal shelters and place rescues in loving homes"). The pup featured in this story, Rue, was taken under Megan's wing to receive the love she's been missing throughout her ruff pup life.
Rue was found under a tent on Skid Row when Megan came across her. She appeared to be pregnant, so Megan immediately took her in and has been housing her until she could find the best pawrent possible for her. Astoundingly, Rue took to her new environment well, eating heaps of pup food and enjoying all the belly rubs and scratches Megan had to offer. Rue is still in need of a furever pawrent, but we suspect that'll change soon. C'mon, look at her! Scroll below to watch the entire heartwarming story.
