Show kindness to a cat once, and it will love you for the rest of your life. That is a rule that every cat person, and non-cat person, should remember. Cats know who the good humans are. And although it's true that cats are very independent creatures, and they don't often ask people for help, cats also know when they do need help, and those good people are the ones they come to. 

This is particularly true for momma cats. Dealing with the hard conditions of the world on your own is one thing as a cat, but once you have babies, momma cats need help to keep them safe and happy.
