Emma Frost and Ultron Are Coming to Marvel Rivals, and We’re All Going to the Hellfire Gala

Just when I thought I was out - they pull me back in!!!
Actually, that's a lie. I was never out. Not even close. I am still playing Marvel Rivals daily like it's my second job (except this one pays in dopamine and rage quits). And now I have even more reasons to keep logging in because NetEase just revealed two brand new characters coming to the game on April 11 as part of Season 2.

Emma Frost and Ultron.

Those are a literal diamond-skinned telepath and a genocidal robot — and somehow they're both crashing the same party: The Hellfire Gala. Because of course they are.

Season 2 seems to be taking us to the mutant nation of Krakoa, and if you're not caught up on your X-Men lore, just know this: Krakoa is a living island, home to a sovereign mutant society, and the site of some of the most ridiculous (and fabulous) fashion ever drawn in comics. It all comes from the modern "Krakoan Age" of X-Men comics, which kicked off in 2019 and gave us wild ideas like mutant resurrection, psychic backups, and miracle drugs made from mutant plants. Yeah, comics are fun.

Marvel Rivals is diving straight into that Island with seasonal skins, including classic X-Men suits and more elaborate Gala-inspired outfits. Think: blue-and-yellow training suits for Magik and Psylocke, Wolverine in his white "Patch" suit, and yes, Emma Frost being nothing less than fabulous, with thighs that can put Chun Li to shame

Ultron and Emma are expected to shake up the tank-healer-DPS balance, but I'm also here to report that we now have three different blonde women in white and blue: Sue Storm, Dagger, and Emma Frost. At this point I'm relying entirely on skins to tell people apart. I mean, it's either that or yell "WHICH FUTURE WIFE ARE YOU?!" into my mic every match.

Marvel Rivals Season 2 launches April 11, and with characters this bold and outfits this glam, it's clear we're about to enter a whole new level of chaos. Honestly? I can't wait. Check out the trailer below:
