We all know dogs are wagging their tails to express excitement or affection while cats tails can tell us exactly what they're thinking and how they're feeling.
But what other uses animals put their tails to?
Marsupials like kangaroos (animals that carry their young in a body pouch) with very small front feet, need their tail to maintain their balance. the tail, in this case, is like an additional limb that allows the animal to move around without losing their balance.
