Text - Sassanach36 318 points · 6 hours ago My in-laws , husband and I thought we were late for a funeral. We sat in the back and then we hear. "Now let us commend the soul of our friend, Dave." Who the fuck is Dave?! My Mother in law: "Oh no! Wrong funeral!" We had to pretend we were crying to hide the laughter. Sorry Dave. We are so, so, sorry.

Text - angelamartini 9 points · 1 hour ago - edited 1 hour ago My dad and grandpa went to West Virginia a few years ago when my great grandma passed to help with funeral proceedings. While they were there, some lady stood up and talked for ten minutes about the times she had with her. She was definitely not talking about my great grandma, and of course nobody recognized the stories. But nobody knew what to do with her, so they just let her keep talking.

Text - i_cant_cartwheel 118 points · 5 hours ago My mom, trying to lose weight and get in shape, signed up for a beginners jogging class. She showed up the first day, saw someone she knew, started chatting. When the woman started asking her about qualifying race times she started to realize there was an issue. It was the wrong day: she had found herself in the most advanced running group.

Text - Aannyoakley 62 points · 5 hours ago My (ex) father-in-law had had a heart attack. I give his name at the nurse's station and she gives me the room number and tells me it's bed number 2, by the window. So, I go into the room and hear a soft voice from behind the curtain saying a prayer. Nothing unusual, as the in-laws were quite religious. I slip in and don't immediately recognize anyone but figure it's because they've all got their heads bowed. When the prayer is over, I very softly said

Text - kosmos-ost 31 points · 6 hours ago I was doing household clearences for a living. One day I was supposed to get a truckload of junk from a basement (of which I only saw photos before) in an aprtment building. The lady lived abroad, so she gave the key to her former neighbour - I just had to ring there, get the key, remove the junk, giver her the key back. She had a common name. I rang, a nice elderly lady opened, I said I was supposed to get the key for the basement - she gave me a key fo

Text - donutshopsss 59 points · 6 hours ago Played in a church band growing up and practiced same-time/place every Saturday. Every time there was a "rough on the edges" group standing by the back door chain-smoking which was a bit weird for a church, especially because they didn't really say hello. Finally I said "fuck it" and went in to introduce myself to these people I always saw in the room they were always at. When I walked in I got a bunch of blank stares, a few confused waves and a "can I

Text - RedditorCabron 18 points · 5 hours ago I used to deliver flowers for a local florist, when delivering flowers to a funeral home there was generally a door in the back of the building labeled "deliveries". I'd enter, sign the delivery sheet and be on my way. One day I delivered to a new place, there were 3 doors out back, all unlabeled, so I just pick one, but I'm not paying attention because I'm trying to get my paperwork squared away. I look up and there's about six corpses laying under

Text - BlackDragonofDoom 9 points · 3 hours ago Back in second grade we were working on computers, learning to type, etc. Well one day i went to the bathroom during class and back to the main room to grab my notebook cuz i forgot it. On the way back i got distracted and confidently walked into the wrong classroom. Didn't look up, didn't greet anyone because we were supposed to be quiet, just walked over to my seat and sat back down. I thought someone was pranking me because my laptop was gone, a

Text - Samisoy001 5 points · 5 hours ago When I was about 10 years old I was staying down the shore with my parents. One day I walked into the wrong hotel room, because the door was partially open I just assumed it was my room and saw two naked people on a bed. Yes it was the wrong room and it was the first time l'd seen a naked woman.

Text - scottiebass 10 points · 4 hours ago Some friends we knew were having a 4th of July party at their house, so one of my friends (who had never been there before) showed up to the party, grabbed a beer, and while he was hanging out he thought it was strange that he didn't recognize anybody, especially since it was a "work" party and he should have know most of the people who were going to be there. Then he noticed that not only did he not know anybody, but there were only guys and no woman a
