Have you ever had the feeling that someone immediately dislikes you upon meeting them? That's what this couple felt from a hostess one night on a dinner date. They waited patiently to be seated, but the hostess looked them up and down, giving them a disapproving look, as if they didn't belong there. Then, another couple walks in behind them and is seated much quicker.

Once our couple is seated, they're placed at a table right near the kitchen trash and noise. Fun. They notice that the other couple is seated at a much better table. To our couple in the story, it seemed like the hostess looked at them and assumed she wouldn't get a decent tip from them. When politely asking to move to a more comfortable table, they're met with even more disdain from the hostess. But luckily, they have a kind server who makes the experience a little more bearable. They make it a point to give the server a generous tip just for him and not to share.

Look, I've worked service jobs - it's hard to deal with entitled customers, and I understand wanting a bigger tip. But maybe try not to make it super obvious to the people who are potentially tipping you.

Some of the commenters were skeptical of the story. Maybe the hostess had good reason to be annoyed with the couple. Or maybe the hostess was just having a rough day and took it out on them. Is there something they're leaving out? Or was this hostess just flat out mean? I'll let you be the judge.
