SpaceX and NASA just made history when two NASA astronauts were launched into space toward the International Space Station (ISS) on a commercial spacecraft. This milestone marks a new era of commercial space travel, as the first commercial space travel company, SpaceX, continues to improve its rockets. The 229 foot tall Falcon 9 rocket carried a Crew Dragon Capsule with astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley inside. They're scheduled to arrive at the ISS on Sunday morning after a 19 hour journey in the very modern-looking Dragon Capsule. What makes this launch special is that from 2011, NASA has had to pay for seats aboard Russian spacecraft, rather than being able to launch from U.S. soil. But with this new commercial crew model, NASA (and theoretically anyone with enough money) can buy a ticket into outer space. So start saving up! But for now, enjoy the GIFs below.
