As the Butte County Sheriff's Office wrote in a Facebook post: "These last several days have been hard on our entire county and we thought we would share a positive story today." Members of the BCSO Search and Rescue team as well as other deputies were scouring the properties damaged by the fires a couple days ago and made an incredible discovery in Berry Creek - a survivor, a puppy, a real trooper.

The puppy had some "minor burns" and was quickly taken for a checkup to Valley Oaks Veterinary in Chico Center by Animal Control. Other than these minor burns, the puppy is thankfully fine. After investigating, the department "found out that the owner of the property has several dogs and was not able to locate them all before needing to evacuate."

We can imagine the rush to evacuate and the circumstances under which the puppy was lost and are so happy that he was found. For his ferociousness and incredible survival, the deputies have "decided to give this sweet puppy a name, Trooper." And we believe that the name couldn't be more well-earned.

Other Facebook users agree and have taken to sharing the post by the thousands and commenting to spread hope and positivity. One user even told their own story about finding her cat after a wildfire in 2016. To spread more hope in these hard times, you can take a look at this heartwarming story of a boy with a cleft lip finding his perfect puppy companion who also has a cleft lip.
