"Dumb dogs are the best" is the way that this story begins, and though we would argue that all dogs are the best, there truly is something special about the silly dogs among them. Their silly habits are more endearing than anything else most of the times, and we love our doggos all the more for their shenanigans.

This tumblr story shows exactly that. It is the story of the dog who licks doors whenever he wants to go outside. Any door - from the bathroom door to the kitchen cabinet door. And that's the only way you ever know when he wants to go out. Haven't seen him in a while? He might be quietly standing with his tongue pressed against the shower door because maybe outside is through that one.

Somehow in his little golden retriever brain, he interpreted this to mean “go to the front door, and lick it." If he's at the door, but isn't licking it, he doesn't need out, he's just chilling.

    Text - He doesn't alert us he needs out any other way. So if you haven't seen him in a while, you have to search room by room until you find him with his tongue pressed up against the linen closet because he thinks outside might be that way. He's the biggest, dumbest dog I have ever met in my life and I could not love him any more. He's perfect.
