If there's ever a time to show your worth at a company, it's when you're not around to put out all the fires. In this post to Reddit's popular community r/MaliciousCompliance by u/--Morgoth-, we have a boss who treated his employee differently day-to-day, and in one ridiculous instance, forced OP to take his vacation early because the boss wanted to go on vacation when OP initially planned on it.
OP, just trying to do his job, took his vacation when his boss said, and the boss told him to change his passwords for security purposes beforehand. This is where OP's compliance ocmes in — he changed the passwords but didn't leave notes for anyone on what those new passwords actually were, leaving his boss screwed over and none the wiser during his vacation. Maybe don't mess with an employee just trying to enjoy their life outside of work next time.
For another boss that did it to themselves, here's an employee who derailed their incompetent boss by working their scheduled hours.
