Do you ever just feel... done with everything? Viscachas totally get you. They are cute, they are fluffy, they are soft, but my goodness, they are grumpiness encapsulated. Whoever knew that something so cute could look so done with life.
They remind us of cats in that sense. Fluffy and cute but also really, really done with our human shenanigans. Still, viscachas take the win on this one, because at least cats are happy sometimes. Viscachas really are just... perpetually done. We understand them though. We get it. And considering not only how relatable they are, but also how painfully adorable they are, we would like to officially announce them as our spirit animals.
Did you know? Even though viscachas look kind of like rabbits, they're actually not closely related to rabbits at all. They are actually part of the Chinchillidae family, meaning they're related to the adorable, round fluffballs that are chinchillas. They're the chinchilla's grumpy cousin, and we think they're whole family is awwdorable.
They are rare animals, and their grumpiness is not the only thing that makes them unique. They're survivors who are vocal and emit alarm calls when they're in danger. Being perpetually done with everything probably doesn't help them, honestly, with predators most likely looking at them and feeling offended by the dry looks that they get.
