Don't question it. Considering the fact that cats are total jerks (the most loveable jerks who we love more than anything in the whole wide world), this is not surprising. It's like they know. They do the same thing with fancy cat beds. You got one that cost 100$? They'll still find the closest book stack and choose to sleep on that. We'll give them smooches anyway though.
