There are so many amazing animals out there that we don't know about. Rare and special creatures that, as animal lovers, we wish we knew more about. One of them is the Numbat. Numbats are insectivorous marsupials, they're adorable, they're fluffy, they looks almost mythical, and there are only about 1000 of them left in the world.
They're an endangered animal in need of help, and we think one of the best ways to help them is to spread awareness about them and show people pictures of how incredibly adorable they are. Because no one can withstand their cuteness. Another incredible way to help is to read up about them and consider donating at Project Numbat. But for now, let's take a look at how amazing they are.
The Numbats are extremely rare small marsupials that only grow to about 20–29 cm long plus a tail 12–21 cm long. They have a sticky long tongue and a pointed nose that helps them get into all the little nooks and crannies they need to provide for themselves. They also don't have teeth, strangely enough, they only have blunt pegs since they do not chew their food.
They're also adorable. And their babies are even more adorable, as clearly demonstrated in the following picture. We wish there were more of them if for no other reason than for us to be able to see and aww over them in the wild, and possibly get one of them intrigued enough by us to get it close enough to pet. Because who wouldn't want to pet an animal so dang cute.
