Okay, hold on a second, before you leave screaming "BUGS!" at us, stop for one moment and look at this one. We know, we know, bugs are kinda eww-y sometimes, but not this one. This one is as beautiful as a painting, specifically, a Picasso painting.
Meet the Picasso bug, otherwise known as Sphaerocoris annulus. It's a bug that's native to tropical and subtropical Africa, and it is one of the most beautiful bugs we've ever seen. Looking at this little guy brings us to the days of our childhood, when we were in kindergarten, playing around with the prettiest bugs around, no fear to be found in our tiny little palms. And maybe, after seeing this cool creature's pictures, you will feel the same way.
It's amazing actually, how even the most bug-fearing among us here did not have a visceral reaction of shivering in disgust when seeing this bug. So, if you're one of the people out there who see the beauty even in the most common bugs out there, and you wish there was a way to convince other people that bugs are not that bad, this might be the one to introduce to them first.
Yeah, I know, we didn't expect this bug to be as small as it is when we first saw it too. It's tiny, but that doesn't make it any less beautiful than it is. Knowing it's so small makes it seem even more precious to us. It's one of those bugs that if it flew into our house, we would think twice before squishing it, most likely finding a container to be able to catch it and release it back outside. This kind of beauty is not squish-able.
