The British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) led the latest Freddie rescue mission. It took an 80-foot net, rescue rafts as well as a team of 15 people to bring Freddie ashore. Freddie was coaxed into the lock then hauled up. The hook, which could have stopped Freddie from being able to eat, simply fell off during the rescue, because life really is on Freddie's side at all times.

Freddie's story was found out when his flipper tag number was checked out during the examination. He was treated with antibiotics then released into the Thames where there is an established seal colony. Scott Miller, who led Freddie's latest rescue mission, said: His lip was quite swollen, but it was fortunate that the lure hadn't caused further damage to his mouth. Seals do travel big distances but for one so young, this is really impressive." And we totally agree.
