Hiring managers are really on the frontlines when it comes to catching any risky candidates that might otherwise fool a company into hiring them with a well practiced, entirely fake nice demeanor. The last thing anyone wants to end up dealing with is an employee who is only there because they have some kind of family connection. It's those family connections that can end up inviting the laziest and most entitled of folks into a company.
