Bats are very helpful creatures! Did you know that they are worth billions of dollars yearly as a natural source of pest control in the United States? Neither did we! Additionally, hundreds of species of fruits rely on bats for pollination, including mangos and bananas. Next time you sit down to enjoy a delicious fruit, whisper a thank you to your local bat population!
Aside from all the practical benefits that bats offer their respective ecosystems daily, they are absolutely awwdorable. Imagine a teddy bear. Now imagine a teddy bear with wings. Surprise! It is a bat. Bats certainly do not have the best reputation, many people are scared of them. We are here to say once and for all that bats are awesome and underappreciated!
To mimic the warmth of their mothers' wings, rescued orphaned bats get bundled up like burritos in snugly blankets. Look at these sweet babies! All bundled up and cozy. I may not be a baby anymore, but even I still enjoy a good blanket burrito.
Throughout history bats have been associated with darkness and evil. We are here to debunk that misconstrued association once and for all! Sweet little bats deserve to be loved and respected just like all other animals!
