Parents should definitely not be pushing diet-culture-type foods on their children. It sends mixed messages about food, and strength, and overall health. However, not everyone considers the same foods to be a part of the 'toxic diet culture world.' Some people could get triggered by fruit because it reminds them of the fruit cleanse they went on when they were trying to lose 10 pounds. But for other people, it's just a sweet treat. They don't have the same connotation to it.
It was Reddit user u/throwFish536 who asked people on Reddit's 'Am I The A-hole page if she was the A-hole for serving La Croix's at her daughter's birthday party. At first glance, this story seems really misleading? There must be more to the story. Right?
So based on the party menu, this momma is clearly not pushing an 'over healthy' diet on her children. The only thing that is 'low-calorie' is the sparkling water. There are people who use sparkling water as a way to sub soda drinks, but these people need to understand that not everybody makes that same connection.
