There's no such thing as a 'normal name.' You might have the most common name in your country and then realize nobody can pronounce it in another. Or your name might sound very simple, but for whatever reason, your parents decided to put in a silent Q and now you have to spell it out every gosh darn time somebody asks for it. If your name has always given you sh*t, you tend to get used to the ridiculous moments that come out of it, but in the back of your brain, you might hold a bit of resentment for your 'creative' parents.
On Twitter, @SummerRay asked people to share the most grief their name has ever given them. She shares first that even though her first name seems simple enough, even with a name like 'Sarah' issues can arise.
See? The spelling of a name has a lot of power. One wrong letter and you can be accused of straight-up identity fraud. I wonder if the English language is unique in having so many different kinds of spelling for the same name.
