There's a stereotype about American tourists being obnoxious, which isn't hard to imagine. It's easy to imagine us Americans waddling around, touching historically significant artifacts and complaining about how old ancient castles look without any understanding of the history that surrounds them when we travel abroad. Luckily, plenty of countries are also known for having horribly entitled tourists — it's almost like people just act poorly when they're on vacation and view those that surround them only as vehicles to help them enjoy their vacation.
Of course, it's bad that there is as much unearned entitlement in the world as there is, but it's at least better to not be the only people that everyone completely hates. Here are some really dumb and obnoxious things American tourists have said and done, from the American who told an English person in England they speak English well (no, really) to the person who apparently claimed that going to Boston, Massachusetts, is a more true Irish experience than visiting Ireland itself. To top it all off, here are some dumb complaints people had for their travel agency when traveling abroad.
