Howdy folks. We'd like to draw your attention to a topic not discussed every day, but an important one regardless! Should we be celebrating our dogs' birthdays even though it's possible that they don't fully understand what's going on? Reddit user u/thowra_crzy posted an interesting topic of discussion that garnered many, many responses!
She writes: "My dog turned 13 today and I celebrated his birthday by getting him a few baked cookies and a toy from the pet store. I posted on my Instagram story and I got a reply saying how dumb it was to celebrate when they don't even know. I replied by saying well you just celebrated and had a party for your 1 year old daughters birthday and she didn't know what was going on either. She's says that that's not the same thing at all."
Okay, we'd like to throw our opinion into the mix before we go any further. Our dogs are our best friends and we LOVE celebrating them. The world of social media is a judgmental place, with millions of opinions floating around. At the end of the day, the only opinion that truly matters, is your own. If celebrating your dog's birthday makes you happy and it brings you pleasure to indulge your furry four legged friend, then why the heck not! We say ignore the haters and DO YOU. Reddit users overwhelmingly agree with us and voiced their support for OP!
At the end of the day you got to do what makes you happy and ignore the rest! We support celebrating doggos' birthdays with 100% of everything that we are. Doggos deserve to be celebrated and what better excuse than a birthday?
Happy birthday, pooch!
Can we get an Amen?? A TO THE MEN. Celebrate all you want! It's not every day that your doggo turns 13. Who cares what one Instagram troll thinks? We know we certainly don't! Let's get this party started!
Mazal tov!
