[Discussion] My dog turned 13 today and I celebrated his birthday by getting him a few baked cookies and a toy from the pet store. I posted on my Instagram story and I got a reply saying how dumb it was to celebrate when they don't even know. I replied by saying well you just celebrated and had a party for your 1 year old daughters birthday and she didn't know what was going on either. She's says t

That's all that matters. Celebrate all you want, 13 years is a great reason to enjoy some extra treats and lovin! 1.4k Reply Give Award Share Report Save

Font - joesomebody_ · 6d Just lost my 14 year old best buddy. I thew him a 4th of July BBQ since I knew it was our last holiday together. No regrets. We had a great day, some great photos and I try to treat that day as sort of my goodbye instead of the sad final vet visit and other less fun memories. Celebrate your pup however you want to. Our dog passed 2 months after her fifth birthday (vet didn't catch lymphoma early enough); the most recent good photos I have where our sweet girl wasn't in pain or on meds were from her birthday. We made her dog-friendly cupcakes and got her some new toys. She deserved all of it and more, but even now when I question

I love my dog and she always comes by me after and brushes up on me, I think it's her way of saying thank you. They def understand when you do something special for them.

Font - Alittlelost2020 · 6d They may not understand the significance about the day being THEIR day, but in no way is it dumb to celebrate it! I celebrate all my animals birthday (dogs, fish, everything!). Even if they dont realize its their birthday, they understand they are getting a special treat and they love it! I am one of those who actually makes a dog safe cake from scratch and give each of the dogs a slice of it (singing and all, just no fire as they hate the flames of course). I also wr

Font - Taidashar · 5d e Yeah, who cares what other people think? It's not hurting anyone and you both get enjoyment out of it. The friend should mind their own business if they're only going to be rude. My dog just turned 12 and we celebrating by going out to the mountains for a hike (probably his all time favorite activitiy), letting him pick out a new toy at the pet store, and spoiling him all day with all his favorite treats. You make a good point about having a party for the 1 year old too..

Font - JudgeDreddx · 6d Sounds like he deserves a party, then! I love celebrating my dog's birthday, so does he. So much so, that the day is no longer called Halloween in my house, it's Onyx's birthday. A 39 Reply Give Award Share Report Save
