Entitled grandma cuts 5-year-old granddaughter’s long, beautiful hair while babysitting, 33-year-old mom refuses to let her babysit ever again, sparking family tension

Here we have a story of family dynamics, and learning to balance different personality types. The protagonist is a father who has a 5-year-old daughter with beautiful, long, curly hair. She always gets compliments on her hair, and it's a huge aspect of her confidence. Once day while his mother is babysitting, he and his wife come home to find that she's given a haircut to his 5-year-old. His daughter is in shambles and close to tears. His mother excuses her behavior by saying that she needed a haircut and pretends like what she did was okay. Other family members get involved, and it gets ugly. But ultimately, the parents decide that they can't trust this grandmother to babysit their daughter anymore. 

Confidence is important when you have a child. Knowing that they're comfortable in their own skin, and that they feel beautiful is crucial. It can carry them and affect them into adulthood, and hair is definitely something that will affect a young girl's confidence.

  • When I was growing up, people also always complimented me on my hair. I would be utterly mortified if my grandma cut all my hair off. Not only is it a stark change that the daughter didn't consent to, but it's not even a professional haircut!
