According to Love Meow, the story starts a few weeks ago in San Jose, California, where a family discovered a hissy feral kitten outside their home. When they got closer to her, they saw that she had one infected eye and was in need of medical help. Their neighbor's daughters are co-founders of Mini Cat Town, a local cat rescue, so they brought the kitten there, asking for help.

"Our mom took one look at her and brought her inside, set up a playpen for her, and gave her a fluffy blanket. By the time we got home, she already named the kitten Lucky," Tram Bui of Mini Cat Town said. "She had a pretty bad eye infection that we treated her for. The first set of medication didn't work, so we had to change her eye medication before she showed improvement."

For days, the kitten continues to hiss at every single time she saw a person, but thankfully, Tram and her family knew that it wasn't personal and that she just needed some time to adjust. So, they brought her food, treats, toys and other soft things to help her feel more comfortable.

"We socialized her by using a toothbrush to brush her and talked to her. We watched as she slowly came out of her shell," Tram explained. "Pretty soon, she became affectionate, sweet, and purred when we petted her, though she would still hiss if we approached her too quickly."

Even one of the dogs came to offer cuddles while she was getting better, and Lucky was more than happy to nuzzle him, purring and loving every moment of it. Over time, as the kitten became more and more comfortable with her surroundings, the hissing lessened, and lo and behold, her playful side made an appearance.

"She left the hissing life behind and started to enjoy purring and lots of head scratches." Suddenly, the once feral kitten was an incredibly affectionate one, purring when she was petted and pouncing on every moving toy. "She met all of our household pets, Lilo, Finny, Rosie, and Misty! She especially loved playing with Misty's toys, to Misty's dismay."

When she was ready to find a forever home, Lucky was taken to the adoption floor to hang out with other kittens. Calpico, a friendly calico, took the tabby under her wing, keeping Lucky company and comforting her when she needed cuddles. Even then, Lucky was still shy when meeting new people, but all it took was a few pets for her to become the love bug that she is.

She did need a family who would understand her shyness, and luckily, she didn't have to wait more than a few weeks to find them. "She goes to an awesome family with a mom, a dad, two human sisters, and three kitty siblings," Tram said. "We had a virtual adoption meeting with them, and they allowed us to meet the whole crew, including their resident cats, gave us a house tour, and showed us where Lucky would be staying to acclimate to her new home."

And now, she's living the life of a most-spoiled kitty in a forever loving home, and we could not be happier for her. "We and our mom, who took care of Lucky, will miss her dearly, but we're so happy and excited for everyone."
