One of them is definitely about to start talking.
As a child, everyone dreams of two unlikely animals forging a friendship and becoming lifelong buddies. If you’ve ever written a “book” as a 4th grader, the following animal relationship was probably the exact storyline that you had in mind.
Meet Luna, a real life actual black panther that lives in a Russian woman’s house in the woods. Of course, this is all in Russia-- as per usual.
Not only is Luna incredible on her own, since she’s a 250lb full grown panther living in captivity, but she also is best friends with one of the other animals on the ranch– a sweet old rottweiler dog. These two have been a pair ever since Luna was just a tiny, spotted puff ball and they’ve shared their lives in the snow and in the wild since then.
Luna, now that she’s enormous, has become a little bit more intimidating. However, it’s clear that the dog wears the pants in this relationship. The two play together in the woods all the time, with Luna bounding and wall riding off of every nearby tree to get a quick pounce on her doggie friend. At first glance, one might think that it’s the end of the road for the dog, but we all know that they are going to be best friends forever.
That’s just what magical Disney characters do.
And in this story, we can watch as Luna grows up, losing her spots, gaining confidence, and becoming the feisty feline protagonist that we can all support. All we need are a few musical numbers where the woodland animals sing about the pains of growing up and we’ve got ourselves a movie! That's certainly something that every child in America would be interested in watching. Big cats are just so fascinating, they fill our screens and our hearts.
This unlikely animal friendship would rival even the best mystical, snowy Disney films, where Luna can be our rising star and her rottweiler bestie can be the comic relief. Grab the popcorn, this is going to be a hit.
