Font - ClamPuddingCake · 5d American Eskimo Dog. The most beautiful, majestic of all dogs, but I just don't think I could deal with the shedding and energy. I have a disability that limits my ability to be consistently active, so many breeds are just too high energy for me to handle. But in my fantasy, I live out in the woods and I have all the room and energy for border collies, hounds, and maybe even a Doberman just because they look so elegant.

Font - femmiestdadandowlcat · 5d Irish wolfhound. They're super cool but their short lives make me too sad G Reply 1 371 eirttik23 · 5d My mom had adopted a mix. Half wolfhound half chocolate lab. He looked like Chewbacca! She wanted a wolfhound but was also worried about the short life span. Labs seem to live well into their teens. He ended up being 14 years old before he passed. Fin was a good boy. 132

Font - Resting_Fartface · 5d Mini Poodle Samoyed. Love them, love their personality. But having one would mean that I would be overwhelmed with fur. 6 Reply 1 189 3 Dr_Stroker_ · 5d They are not too bad. Generally, they shed the undercoat once or twice a year, and sometimes not at all if they are groomed monthly (I take mine to a groomer given I live in a warm climate). The hair clumps too, which means it is very easy to vacuum up. Biggest factor with a Sammy is [a] sufficient exercise and [b][

Organism - mutnik • 5d So, my husky this morning randomly came into my office, howled at me, then left. This is his normal behavior. 6 Reply 1 187 Slhallford · 5d This is the way. Can confirm. Ours is currently howling at my husband who had the nerve to go the bathroom alone. 4 67 3

Font - XThislsGospelx · 5d Ayrton the Poodle Mix Border Collie. Absolutely gorgeous dogs, but their incredible intelligence and high energy and mental stimulation needs would make it literally impossible for me to have one and give it the attention and exercise it would need. Font - 10stepstosuccession · 5d A giant schnauzer. I absolutely love them but we fostered a standard one for a few months waiting for the new owner to have her home ready and it was a mess. Granted that dog came from a bad situation but they just require sooo much time and energy. I'm a stay at home mom and I have a 1/2 acre backyard with a large house and walk 2-5 miles of trails every morning but that's not enough. They're working dogs that were also used as police dogs so they need nosework,

Font - superworking · 5d Newfy, I have poodle crosses that do well with my allergies. I'd just die with a Newf but I would die happily sneezing my last breath. 6 Reply 1 36 3

Font - femmiestdadandowlcat · 5d I grew up with a pretty levelheaded border collie mix and now work in the veterinary field. All the time these terribly neurotic border collie mixes come in who are just over the top (one used to be an actual working dog and now lives in an apartment who jumped around and barked the entire time she was in the clinic 9) and I was thinking why is it that ours was fine? Then I remember. My dad ran her for four+ miles every single morning and we threw the ball for he

Font - EmeraldDenna · 5d I would love to adopt a whole pack of sight hounds, greyhound, Saluki, silken wind hound, galagos, ect. But I have a 9yo chihuahua who is everything reactive. 6 Reply 1 43 3 + airivolkova • 5d Oh sight hounds are just the best. I wanted this too but we got an Italian Greyhound to begin with and he is way too small and fragile to pair with a larger dog with prey drive. Maybe if we ever come across an older Whippet that has calmed down a bit... 8 3

Font - Zhaefari • 5d Future Golden Mom l'd love a Belgian Malinois but I just wouldn't have enough patience. Another is Pomeranian but I couldn't find any reputable breeders for them. G Reply 1 43 + laifissajoke · 5d I currently have a Belgian Malinois and he's an active and energetic nightmare. It definitely is challenging to keep up with him on certain days but most of the time it works out well because I try to be active during the lockdown so I play with and train him quite often. Font - TangerineBetween · 5d Leonberger! Beautiful giants. Not very common. Maybe someday l'd get one Reply 4 42 natleemarie · 5d Yes! I love Leonbergers but I don't have space for such a giant fluff (at least not yet) - plus very hard to find

Font - thighGAAPenthusiast · 5d Lab Hounds, all of them sight and scent. They're dignified goofballs, I love them. I just don't want to deal with the prey drive and accompanying focus issues of both groups and the sensitivity of sighthounds right now. Maybe in 10 or so years l'll make the move. G Reply 1 51 3

Font - ncabral06 • 5d A German Shepherd or Belgian Malinois, but I work long days and have no yard to speak of. Reply 1 180 Firm-Weather-4672 · 5d I was going to say the same. I may get a shepherd when life changes a bit but I definitely couldn't handle a malinois. They are such great dogs. I also want to add Rhodesian ridgeback to my list. I'd struggle to handle their energy needs with my current life situation. 45 ...
