Cute moths. Boom. You probably have not heard those words together before, so gear up and get used to it. When you think of moths you first thoughts are probably not consistent with the words "cuteness" and "adorable." Maybe after reading through this fuzzy moth appreciation post, your mind will start to change. Let us begin. There are hella adorable moths out there that don't get the love and appreciation they very much deserve! We've decided to put together this list of super duper cute moths to try and change the public's perception about these furry legged critters.
Moths tend to have stout and hairy or furry-looking bodies, while butterflies have slender and smoother abdomens. Moths have larger scales on their wings which makes them look more dense and fluffy. The feathery construction of a moth's antennae gives them a much better sense of smell than their butterfly cousins. All of those tiny hairs means more surface area to cover with smell receptors, and that makes moths much better at picking up odors. Neat, right?
Imagine hugging this guy close at night instead of your teddy bear? To be honest we think they are pretty comparable in fluffiness levels. The teddy might have the slight advantage in that it is stationary and moves with you as you sleep…moths on the other hand have minds of their own!
Now that's one moth that looks like a snowflake that we wouldn't mind giving a (light) squeeze and a cuddle! Moths are really beautiful creatures that have been rejected in society just due to them being insects!
