As a manager of a retail location there are probably a few things you shouldn't do. It's important to treat your coworkers and employees with respect and being in charge of people doesn't, and shouldn't, suddenly mean that you can forgo that ethical and societal requirement.
Rescinding an employees already accepted leave is one of those things that you definitely shouldn't do. Just don't. Ever. This is such a low blow and a sign of disrespect.
Good on the employee for walking away. No wonder the other employees quit too.
