Viral Thread: Celebrating A Senior Chinchilla's 15th Birthday

On the list of animals who we tend to think of as absolutely awwdorable, we seem to almost always go with the most predictable ones. Itty bitty teacup puppies, illegally smol teeny weeny kittens… rarely do we ever put chinchillas up on that list, and you know what? We think that's practically criminal.

Chinchillas are awwdorable as heck. They round. They fluffy. When you pick them up your hand sinks into their fur and suddenly you realize just how tiny their body actually is under all that fluff. So, when we came across a viral thread online celebrating a distinguished, adorable chinchilla, we absolutely had to make sure that you guys saw it too.

Oh my goodness! We were not expecting a baby picture right off the bat like that. We were building ourselves up to see pictures of gorgeous and distinguished senior chinchillas, not itty bitty fluffy babies with huge ears and noses that are too boop-able for this world.

Neverminded, we take it back. It doesn't matter whether baby or senior, the ears are still huge, and the nose is just as boop-able as ever. Goodness, we are weak for chinchillas. We will never understand how they get as little love as they do. Not loving chinchillas really should be socially banned.
